Edinburgh Festival

Central Hall blends into the famous Tollcross high street yet stands out as a fine piece of architecture built by the Methodist Church in 1901. There are a variety of spaces to choose from, including the Auditorium, Hall, and several Breakout Spaces, whether you’re a first time Fringe show, or part of any of the wider Festivals taking place in Edinburgh during August 2024.

Our Spaces

  • Auditorium

    The highlight of Central Hall, with a capacity of 750 seated, this room is ideal for larger shows, especially for Cabaret and Variety, Children's Shows, Comedy, Events, Exhibitions, Music, Musicals and Opera, Spoken Word and Theatre. This space is also perfect for exhibitions and receptions throughout the Festival.

  • Hall

    This grand but simple Victorian style room offers another flexible space for hire, for medium sized shows. This room can accommodate 100 theatre style, or a perfect space for a reception or exhibitors. This space is also ideal for any Festival rehearsals, and we will offer discounted rates for multi-day bookings.

  • Breakout Rooms

    There are smaller rooms available with capacities of up to 50 theatre style to hire for meetings or seminars along with large foyers for reception or exhibition space. These are ideal for more intimate gigs or shows, for up to 50 people.

    • Sound system, visual production, and conference lighting in the Auditorium.

    • Optional staging in the Hall, alongside AV system in the Hall.
